Breitling has a strong place among luxury watchmakers without a doubt. Highly exclusive, technically advanced and largely sports chronographs are popular with customers around the world. It is also due to its close links with the world of aviation, unique design and rich history.

It dates back to the second half of the 19th century, when young Leon Breitling in the Swiss town of St-Imier opened a workshop for the production of movements. By honest approach and persistent work he defined the guiding principles of corporate culture that persist to the present. The history of the company has been and is rich in a number of firsts, patents and inventions: the first wrist chronograph, the official supplier of the British RAF, models such as Chronomat or Navitimer with a logarithmic ruler. Development and progress culminated in the creation of the first IN-HOUSE caliber 01. It has a 3-day power reserve, a high-precision chronograph and a 5-year warranty. Made and assembled by 100% IN-HOUSE in the newly built Breitling Chronometry plant in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The new clockwork immediately pulled the attention of both the professional and the lay public, putting the professional 01 into the top ten world chronographs. The motto “Instruments for professionals” says it all.
